About The Event
Join Cecil Ethridge as he narrates our tour of Historic Griswoldville.
In the 1800’s, Griswoldville was a booming industrial town including factories for candles, soap, furniture and cotton gins. The cotton gin factory was converted to a pistol factory during the Civil War. After Sherman left Atlanta in ruins, he began his march to the sea and met his first resistance at Griswoldville. The Battle of Griswoldville was a very costly battle for the Confederacy.
After the tour, we’ll have lunch at the Bent Axle Restaurant. The tour is free. Each will be be responsible for the cost of their own lunch.
Limited walking will occur. Attendees must be able to enter and exit the bus via steps.
